Robbinsdale Senior High School
Class of 1967
Comments from Robins who made this Reunion a Success

From Al Thielen:

I had a blast at the 50th class reunion.

From Kathy Hum Backberg:

I loved that the 7-1s and 2s met and that we got a chance to reconnect after all these years.  The pictures that Jane had, helped me recall the young junior high girl that I was and how we all were connected.  Fun to see what we looked like and did.  I loved talking to you both about who we were then & now.  Was able to let go of anxieties from that time in our late night discussion.
The reunion itself also provided some new contacts and opportunities to renew former acquaintances.  Dancing was fun and food good.  Time seemed to fly by so quickly both evenings that there didn’t seem time to connect with enough people or do eveything that was set up.  Thank you for your efforts in setting up the combined reunion.

From Gloria Lundberg-Jorgenson

Hi Karin and Sharie:

THANK YOU so much for the funnest night ever!!  The Reunion was absolutely perfect down to the very last detail.  I just can't imagine how long you worked on this and how much planning you did to make it so great.  I wasn't sure about combining with Cooper, but that was brilliant.  I loved the way you could easily spot who was from which school.

Where to begin--the location, the ambiance, the music (wow), the "waves of food" (double wow), the cookies!!!, the door prizes, the special memorial room, and just how great it was to see those I'd hope to see and the many new people I met.

Again--thank you, thank you--for your time and real labor of love for your classmates.  Best of everything to you and any others who helped you that you may pass this email along to.

Take care!

From Trudy and Dan Thompson:

Hi Sharie!

Next, we thank you, Karin and your committee for another blockbuster gathering!  It was so much fun--our only regret was that we had to leave relatively early because of our elderly dog!  Good grief!  But, we'resure the remainder of the evening was great, too.  The band was just wonderful--those "old guys" soundSO GOOD!  (the dance floor was a little sticky, so we didn't dance as much--or as well--as we would have liked!)

Finally, we neglected to pick up one of those "sticks" in the room with the video displaying the deceased classmates and those who served in the armed services.  We did make a donation in the basket that was on the table, but while chatting, we forgot to grab a stick.  Is there a way we can get one?  We'd be happy to come to you to pick it up, if there is one left.  Or, if you guys are willing to come into the city, we'll repay you with something fun to drink???!!!

While we were watching the video, Dan got teary when Dick Sweet's pic came up--Dan and Dick stood next to each other in the draft line, and Dick was dead before Dan finished his training.  Then, we discovered Dick's older brother, Thom Sweet was standing next to me watching the video; so Dan introduced himself and told him the story.  Thom handed out the CDs he had with him, and today we listened to it--a great compilation of songs from '67--very nice to have.

So Sharie, I hope you, John and your collaborators are finally getting some rest after so much work! Please let me know about snagging one of those sticks (I know it must have another name, but I'm pretty technology-averse...)

Sleep well!

Best from,  Trudy (and Dan)Thompson

Thank you Sharie for all your hard work on the tribute. I think you did a fine job of capturing the mood of the time.

From Rick Green, CHS '67:Cheryl,

Thank you for all the hard work your committee and you did to put on ‘The Cooper 67 Reunion”.  I had a great time seeing old friends from high school and other schools. I liked the little stickers on the name tags that showed what schools we attended.  Thanks again.  Please pass this on to other committee members.( Darrel,  Nancy and others)

From Jeff Londer:

Hi Karin,

It was great seeing and talking you and the others over the weekend. The most interesting thing that I learned was that we both went to Cleveland for 4 1/2 years before Noble. I cannot believe that we didn't realize that once we got to Noble - I must have spent too much time in the principal's office at Cleveland...
Again, thank for all your hard and continuous work in putting this and other reunions together! It's easy to get on a plane and let others do the work.
Best,
Jeff

PS. Best reunion EVER.

From Adrienne Levy Riley:

Thanks to the 50th reunion committee for their excellent work on the reunion!

From Jan Atkins White CHS Class of 1967:

A big thanks to you and your committee for putting on a great reunion!  You guys did a great job!  So well organized, good music, GREAT video on our military service members, nice memory displays.  Thanks for all your hard work, it showed.

From Winnie (Aanderud) Johnson

Karin,
--I really liked the joint RHS/cooper event. It gave me a chance to catch up with several junior high friends I hadn't seen since junior high.
--I also really liked the appetizer idea. It allowed for more mixing  and meeting more people. It didn't matter that I didn't get to try some of the appetizers-I wasn't starving and had enough. It also allowed me to easily walk away from someone I had talked to enough and go on to someone else.
--The video rooms were a good chance for a few minutes of quiet.
--Great danceable band.
Phil Berdahl of The Miller Brothers Band:
To Karin, John, Sharie and all the others on the committee,
Wow! I am almost speechless, which is rare for me.
Congratulations on the fabulous event you put together. The Class of '67 is by far the best reunion or private event group we've ever played for. It was especially fun for me and because I know so many people from your class it was like a reunion for me too.
What a great turnout and lots of dancers, which we like because we ARE a dance band. The boys in the band talked about what a nice "Gig" it was.
We were able bring up Fred, Tony and Jim to come up and sing and play for their classmates.
Really nice guys too. They wanted to rehearse and I told them we won't have to; just get up, call out the song and key and I'll count to four. I think it sounded great or as someone else would describe as HUGE....REALLY HUGE!
My only resignation was not getting or taking time to visit the rooms with the memorabilia, video and slide presentations.
Again, you all went over and above.
The room was beautiful, the people danced and stayed late.
Thanks again for hiring the Miller Brothers!
I hope you all stay Healthy and Happy!
Who knows......we may not be done yet!
