I remarried 4 1/2 years ago to a fantastic man (of course) - Ken Ruona. We currently live in my house of 30 years in Maple Grove. I have 3 sons. The youngest is 21 and in his 3rd year of college. The middle son is 25 and just finished college and I finally got him out of the house ! He's getting married next year. My oldest is 28, married, lives close by and has given us 2 beautiful grandchildren - Jacob who is 2 years old and Makenzie who is 2 months old. I finally got my girl !!
We LOVE being grandparents and they are over several times a week.
I'm working part time and we hope to retire in 2 to 3 years. Looking forward to traveling more then.
When not working or playing with the grandchildren, I enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, quilting and entertaining family and friends.

Married to Ken, 3 sons, 7 grandkids between the 2 of us.

Married to Ron--38 years, he has been retired for 3 years and I am still working full time. That wasn't the plan, but circumstances are constantly changing. We have four children,Heather, Erik,Kevin and Katie. The joy in our lives are our Six Grandchildren- Elayna, Ashlyn, Makhi, Ethan ,Noah and Claire. I'm jealous that Ron gets to help with taking care of the grandchildren, while I'm at work. Someday......

We have been very blessed this year, our Grandson Makhi was very ill and had to have his arm amputated to save his life. He is recovering and doing fantastic, we count our blessings everyday. Check out his website www.helpmakhisumstad.com

Thanks to all the reunion committee members, they worked so hard for all of us to have a great time. Hope to see everyone at our 60th Birthday Party!!

Daniel Glenn Hawes, 72, of Robbinsdale, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 12, 2020.

Dan was born February 12, 1948 in Madison, Wisconsin. Just a few short years later, at age 4, he moved to Robbinsdale, Minnesota, which would become his forever home. An entrepreneur from the start, Dan started his own lawn mowing service at just 6 years old, and later would teach his young niece and nephews to do the same. With the proceeds from his work in lawn care and snow removal, 11-year-old Dan bought a 57-acre tree farm North of Milaca, Minnesota. He kept plenty busy as child running his business and playing sports with the boys.

After graduating from Robbinsdale High School in 1967, he explored his love for baking at Dunwoody Institute. From there, Dan went on to share his baking talent with many companies over his 34 years in the business.

Along the way, Dan met a special woman named Karen, with whom he was sealed for time in eternity at the Salt Lake Temple, in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1988. The two went on to spend many happy years together in Robbinsdale.

Dan always kept up his busy lifestyle, whether that be buying real estate, mowing lawns, or spending time with his family. After his retirement in 2002 at age 52, he had even more time to do these things. His favorite line to share with others when they weren’t feeling well or they had a problem was that they, “needed more chocolate”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Skutley) Hawes.

Dan was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his wife, Karen; his daughter, Sarah; brothers, David (Vicky), Tom (Faye), Karl (Babs); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

One of Dan’s favorite scriptures, that he lived by, was “{Doctrine & Covenants 58:27: “Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness.”

Heikkinen, Linda Louise It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Louise Heikkinen announces her death on Sunday, May 1, 2005, at her home in Redondo Beach, CA, with family members at her bedside. She had ovarian cancer for two years. Born in Seattle, WA on June 9, 1950, she was the youngest child of The Rev. Chester R. Heikkinen of Robbinsdale, MN, and his late wife Bertha M. Heikkinen. Surviving family in Mpls are her brother David A. Heikkinen (and wife Sandra); sister Karen M. Zeider; nieces and nephew and their children; and Sharon Heikkinen Hall of Santa Monica, CA. Linda attended Augsburg College, the Lutheran Bible Institute, and received her B.S. from Columbia Univ. School of Nursing in NYC, where she was in the top of her class. She was a Critical Care Nurse in Saudi Arabia for ten years, thereafter continuing her career in CA in a variety of specialities. She was a radiant witness for her Savior Jesus Christ, active in her local churches and supporting international evangelical charities. Her correspondence with Christian friends and missionary families around the world sustained her growth in faith, and she theirs. An impish wit, imaginative and resourceful, an agile intellect with many creative outlets, she had such sparkling energy so as to make her seem imperishable. Her delight in learning led to accomplishments that gave pleasure and pride to her family and friends. Musician, linguist, pilot, a student of history and the fine arts, English and German literature and especially poetry, conversant in Arabic, she maintained a childlike curiosity in her travels and was grateful for the chance to expand her knowledge of other cultures. She loved to share with her friends all her discoveries, recounting them in amazing, amusing detail. She had a stunning smile. It is our peace that she is home with her Lord. Inurnment in Wilbur, WA. Services Saturday, July 23, 2005 at two o'clock, with visitation at one o'clock at Cross of Glory, 5929 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center (763- 533-8602).

---Dean and I are looking forward to seeing Class of 67 this fall. He has retired and I will retire within the year. We will be in our condo in Mpls. but also have joined a cohousing community in Iowa City, where close family live.

Am very eager to see everyone! So many things have changed since June of 1967 for us boomers.

Favorite memories...walking home in the winter and walking across frozen Crystal Lake ... making hats for My Fair Lady at Mr. Luebke's house ... volunteering in the library during study hall -- back a bit further is the fond, fond memory of spitball fights in Mr. Vail's 9th grade algebra... quite a combination of memories, eh?...
I look back on HS as a wonderful time and think we got an excellent education in a great age for public schools.
